Today is the day of the U.K. General Election. Voting used to be easy and just a choice between the Conservatives and Labour but these days it has got more longwinded and complicated that a George R R Martin series but without the redeeming features of Khaleesi (we do have dragons on the flag though) and Nigel Farage is a bit like Tyrion Lannister.
Whilst I already wrote a piece on it a month ago. Those folks at Mashable.com have come with a guide to the election that mixes real life politics with Game of Thrones. It’s great fun so just click on the link below.
UK General Election Game of Thrones Style

For some real life Game of Thrones tortures, read about my new book 101 Most Horrible Tortures in History.

Can’t think of a reason to vote, here are 900,000 of them from WW1 alone.

Ed Milliband is the most passionate and trustworthy person among them. Labour sounds much more realistic with their programmes and policies.

I’m sure the election result will have shocked a lot of people. It looks like Labour and the LibDems will have to start from scratch. I didn’t vote for them but it is amazing and not very fair that UKIP was the third most voted for party and with more votes than the SNP but ended up with just one MP compared to the 56 or so SNP MP’s.

Thank you for your reminders about WW I and the sacrifices of those at that time of history…not to mention so many other times. I have mentioned your article in my new blog on Leadership and repeating history.

You’re so right, Stephen. In my humble opinion, people who don’t bother to vote have no right to the freedoms so many people laid down their lives for.

Thanks Malla. I think about 38% of people didn’t vote this last week, if they formed a party they could have won the election. As it is they will be the ones who complain the most.
