I only created one brand new tour in 2022, City of London Walking Tour which by chance I received my very first booking for this morning.
I really enjoy researching new tours and locations and am always amazed how no-one had come up with anything similar and yet when various tours take off, they are often imitated yet somehow most people always seem to be able to find me as the original.
I never understand why people copy my tours, the scope of history and tours in London is almost limitless!
Obviously one of the biggest events in 2022 apart from Covid and also Celebrating the end of Boris Johnson – My Part In His Downfall 🙂 was the Celebrating The Platinum Jubilee London Decorated for the Platinum Jubilee as well as the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Unusually for myself, I didn’t post on it at all. Partially as I was so busy; twice in the 48 hours or so before her funeral I was able to do private tours very much behind the security cordons, indeed multiple security cordons as even the BBC were forced to report from outside them. One family of tourists exclaimed I must be from Mi5 but of course, I could not tell them even if I were.
It seemed to me that if I only create one new tour in 2023 then it should be the Queen Elizabeth II Walking Tour of London. I all ready go to almost all of the places I had in mind on a regular basis and not a tour goes by without someone asking about the Queen and so it seems like a natural thing to do.
I’ve sang for the Queen, had a tour gate-crashed by her husband and indeed eaten at her favourite and indeed only public restaurant in London that she ever frequented so I have lots of unique memories and perspectives to offer over an above my own love of history and intimate knowledge of the streets of London.

The tour visits all sorts of places associated with the very long life of the Queen and all in Central London in a 3 hour walk.

Many of the places are totally unvisited by even most Londoners whilst others are famous around the world and also includes spots seen on her jubilee and state funeral.
Though sometimes some of my ideas don’t take-off, most of them do really well as everyone else seems to just concentrate on the tried and trusted and in many ways boring tourist traps in London. I think though that Queen Elizabeth Walking Tour of London will be on that does every well.
Now all I need is my first booking!
