On thursday last week I had reason to go into London as I was practicing one of the new tours I have been working on. For the first time since I moved house in January, I got the tube direct to Westminster Station… one of the reasons I actually moved to where I did as I envisioned making this journey several times a week and though just 4 or 5 miles further away, the journey from the old house could easily take 2-3 hours.
I was pleased that on thursday it was 50 minutes and that was including walking to the bus stop from my house and the journey to the tube station.
As I drew up to Westminster I thought I would video it if only because I’ve actually missed it and some other stations, though not necessarily the terrible crushes which currently are no longer a problem.
Westminster is a fascinating station, maybe a little confusing for visitors as it is spread over so many levels and it being one of the Jubilee extensions is incredibly modern and spacious compared to the many Victorian stations on the network.
Some of the other modern Jubilee stations have even been used in the new Star Wars films, Westminster Station though always seems to be like it would be a good location for a James Bond shoot-out.
Whether you’ve been to Westminster or not, here is a chance to see it as few others. have and in morning rush-hour too!
